Room 13 Update
Check out what we have been up to in Room 13!
So far this term we have been very busy thinking and learning about what Oaklands School might be like in the future! It has been an exciting chance for us to think of all the things that are important to us and that we enjoy about school and how we can incorporate this into Oaklands so future students can have a great experience too.
We have brainstormed ideas about inside and outside spaces, subjects and activities we think are important, learner attributes, teacher qualities and come up with some wonderings too. We had a big focus this week on outside spaces and agreed that the field and courts are a must have and we would love some outside learning spaces e.g. decks with shade sails!
The last time the Olympics were on most Room 13 students were only 4 years old so we have been learning about the Olympics in our Literacy time. There has been a lot of excitement as we track different countries through the games and learn about the history, symbols and effort needed to be an athlete at the Olympics. We have been learning some researching and note taking skills so that we can gather some facts to present in an Information Report about different aspects of the Olympic Games.
