Year 5 Learning
This week the children have been involved in lots of extra learning opportunities including Top Team sports and Multicultural day.
Top Team
On Wednesday all Oaklands students were involved in an exciting sporting event called Top Team. The Year 5 students were collaborating with the Year 2's, 6's and Year 8 leaders. The activities required the students to co-operate with each other to solve the various physical challenges.
What activity did you enjoy and why?
Leandre: I enjoyed the water activity because it was fun getting wet.
Ava: I enjoyed the water activity because getting wet was relaxing.
Erica: I enjoyed the water activities but I don't like getting wet:)
Multicultural Day
On Thursday we had our annual Multicultural day for 2019. The day is an opportunity for students to dress up and represent the culture they identify with. It's always a colourful day. The students were also involved in some learning about the United States of America and Europe.
At 12pm, all Oaklands students participated in a parade. Later on in the afternoon we were entertained by some fantastic cultural performances in the hall.
What was your highlight or what did you learn?
