Koru Games
We are gearing up for Koru Games which are taking place 19th - 21st in Lincoln and Rolleston. The games we are practising are volleyball, ultimate frisbee, touch, badminton and korfball.
Canterbury Chess Competition
Well done to Didi, Noah, Kirsean, Dylan, Ryan, Eathan, Max and Conner who competed on Tuesday at Te Hapua in an individual chess competition. Congratulations to Ryan for coming 3rd in theYear 7 division and a massive congratulations to Didi for winning the Year 8 division.
Final TED Talks
The ākonga have worked incredibly hard to complete their TED talks to a very high standard. This week, we have rehearsed and practised, until we were able to deliver our speech to a small or large group.

Lions Speech Competition
Congratulations to our Year 7 and Year 8 candidates, Max Dill-Russell and Laisa Saamhrespectively for representing Te Kura o Ōwaka in the speech finals which are happening on Monday night the 4th September at Halswell Primary! We wish you all the best.
Kids Keas News:Casting Call!
Amber from Kea Kids News, a fantastic outfit sharing the latest news for tamariki, by tamariki, as seen on The NZ Herald, Prime TV and Nickelodeon and I am coming to Christchurch next week (Friday 8th)for an unbelievably fun story and we are on the hunt for a ‘Kid Reporter’!
They'd love to reach out to families with kids aged 6-12yrs who might have a keen interest in reporting/journalism, being in front of the camera, or even a budding drama/theatre enthusiasts to help report this upcoming episode.

- Introduce yourself
- Talk about a local news story or make one up! (no reading off a script, try to make it organic- it’s okay to stumble)
