Term 2, Week 7 in Review

Alex HORN —

A look back at the week that was...

The Arts

This week we had a big focus on getting caught up on our Arts programme from last term so we can start on the next rotation.

Mr Horn's group finished learning the drum sequence "Are We There Yet?" Unfortunately we had a lot of people away on Friday, so we decided we would have another go at recording the final performance next week. When we have it we will share it here in our Blog.

Miss B's groups finished their "Falling into Space" art, check out some photos below.

Miss O's group finished up their dance routine.

Mihi

We have been focusing on learning our Mihi. We are hoping by the end of the term to be able to record them from memory without having to read them off a piece of paper.

Kindness - Garden

We have been learning about kindness and how we can show kindness. We came up with these messages and wrote them down on some flower and leaf cut outs, we then decorated these flowers, made some nice insects and created a kindness garden.

Kindness - Rainbow Fish

We read the two Rainbow Fish stories by Marcus Pfister, all about kindness, being inclusive, and sharing. We were inspired by this story and it's message to create our own Rainbow fish.

First we drew our fish, then we traced the backside of the fish to create a second side. We painted both sides, glued on some shinny and glittery parts, then stapled half of the fish, stuffed it with scrap paper and then stapled it shut.

Kelly Sport

Every Thursday and Friday for the rest of the term Kelly Sport will be coming to teach us a bunch of games and activities we can play at morning tea and lunch time. We started this week and played the games Traffic Light, and Rock, Paper, Scissors

Getting back into programmes

Next week we will be getting back into more traditional programmes, beginning to reintroduce reading, writing, and maths groups. We will do these things slowly so no one gets lost or confused with the new/old timetable. This means readers will begin coming home again so please remember to bring your reading folders to school everyday next week!
