Week 6 in Review
Yipee we are finally back at school and we can tell by the energy and effort put into this week that the students were eager to get back into the class!
Well Being:
Each day we have focused on the zones of regulation. The zones of regulation is all about our emotions and identifying what we are feeling and why. Before school starts children enter the class and move their picture to the emotion they are feeling. This can either be blue for sad, green for happy, yellow for frustrated or excited and red for angry. If students’ emotions change they can move their image, this has been a great way to check in with those students who are not in the green zone, discussing why and how we can get back to the green zone.
On Tuesday and Friday we created worry bags. We designed our own individual bags, then wrote down our worries, ripped them up and put them in our worry bag so the students no longer have any worries.
Art:
In art we have been connecting what we have done at home over the past few weeks to what we are doing and have been looking forward to at school. We have done this through filling in bubbles one for home and one for school and then gluing them together. Check out the photos below of students showing their amazing bubbles.
Science:
In Science we conducted a germ experiment where we wiped bread on the areas in the class we think would have the most germs. We hope to see results soon and see whose hypothesis is correct!
Mrs Kings and Miss Doigs had the opportunity to go and see Life Education on Wednesday. This was an exciting trip, going and meeting Harold. The students looked at the zones of regulation and how the emotions work inside our brains. They then had the floor shaking as they danced to the banana song.
What a fantastic week back we have had, we can't wait to see what's in store for next week.
