The EPro8 Challenge is forging ahead in the Year 7/8 Hub.
The EPro8 Challenge has been on the go in the Year 7/8 Hub for some time now. This Friday we submit our first round of entries.
The EPro8 Challenge is an engineering and problem solving competition for Year 7 and 8 students. This is the first year that Oaklands has been part of this exciting learning opportunity.
We have two teams of students entered into the competition.
Representing Oaklands in Year 7 is Patrick Corcoran, Luke McIntosh, Eden Greaves and Isabella Ge.
Representing Oaklands in Year 8 is Matthew Randall, Morgan Leoni, Rose Brorens and Luca Damiani.
The teams have been challenged to design and build a robotic animal that could be part of a futuristic Robotic Creatures Zoo. The essence of their animal needs to be shown in their build, with moving parts. There are a number of other criteria that they need to meet. These only serve to make their challenge a little more challenging!
This Friday we submit our entries for judging and the chance of getting the opportunity to progress to the next round.
Read below for some student voice on their Epro8 experience:
Matthew: We have enjoyed trying something new.
Luca: It has been challenging getting all the parts to work together.
Morgan: I've enjoyed working as part of a team.
Rose: I like how it is a mix of Maths, Science ad Technology.
Luke: It was a fun and exciting new thing to try. My team and I have been having a lot of fun.
Eden: It has already a fun experience even though we have not built our animal yet. Our team is making a Hedgehog.
Isabella: I am really enjoying Epro8 especially coming up with an animal, and our team name: The Oaklands Astro-Biscuits!
