Yesterday close to 50 year 4-8 girls attended a cricket skills and fun session on the field at school.
Run by Mark Pringle, a parent and the girls' cricket convenor with the Halswell Junior Cricket Club, the girls were introduced to the basic skills of batting, bowling and fielding .
With expert coaching and guidance from Michaela McIntosh, the current girls' team coach as well as a coach from Canterbury Cricket, the girls had a fantastic session.
Halswell Cricket club are very keen to promote girls' cricket and would like to invite any girl interested in playing cricket to join them for a season of sport and fun.
