Read on to find out what Room 13 have been learning lately...
We have been really busy getting into our learning programmes in Room 13 and it is hard to believe it is almost Easter already!
Lately we have been looking at the New Zealand Flag Referendum and what has happened up until this point in time. We have learned about different symbols and colours and what they represent and even had a go designing our own flag to represent ourselves as well as a new one for New Zealand.
Last Wednesday we got to go the hall and take part in the Kauri Flag Voting and cast our votes. This was pretty exciting because we had built up our ideas and opinions on the flag and finally got to have our say! In the end the current flag won the Kauri election.
We have also had a go at writing a paragraph about our opinion on the flag - whether it should change, or stay the same. Here are some examples of some of the sentences we have used in our writing:
In Maths we have begun looking at Problem Solving. So far we have learned 3 different ways to try and solve a problem: guess, use materials/equipment, draw it. In the photos you can see us trying to solve a problem using these different methods.
Check out some photos below of some other learning we have been doing in Room 13!
