Today we had our first meeting to begin planning for next years multi-cultural week from 20 - 24 February 2017.
The plan for the multi-cultural week is still in draft but will include activities in class, a parade of flags and native costumes, multi-cultural totem poles or murals and an assembly which will showcase musicians, dancers and performers from a variety of different cultures. We will close the week with a multi-cultural day at Halswell Quarry where students will take part in games and activities from around the world and enjoy a picnic lunch.
We would love to have all cultures represented and encourage you to get involved. The next organisation meeting will be held at 9am on Wednesday 14 December in the staff room. If you are unable to attend this meeting but would like to be involved please email me at caroline.martin@oaklands.school.nz.
