‘Every School Day is a Big Day’ is a new campaign to encourage school attendance. Going to school every day is really important for our tamariki to achieve their aspirations. As parents and caregivers, we play the most important role in helping our ākonga to regularly attend school. It's up to us to make sure our children attend and engage in learning from when they first start school until they are 16.

It has been a very busy week at Oamaru Intermediate this week. This week we have opened up our school for over 250 visitors: future or prospective students and their whanau. I am very proud of the values our students have demonstrated during all of our Open Week tours. We saw in abundance during our six open day/evening tours this week, students and visitors Engaging with Mana.

Basketball season wrapped up on Wednesday night with two OIS teams taking out the finals. Well done to everyone who played this year. Thank you to all the coaches, managers, parents and supporters for all the hard work you put in to enabling us to have so many teams turn out on the court each Wednesday. See results below.
