Positive Puberty Programme

As part of the Oamaru Intermediate School Year 7 Health and PE Curriculum, your child will be taking part in the school’s “Positive Puberty” programme. The learning outcomes for this unit will enable the students to work towards the achievement objectives of Health and Physical Education in the New Zealand Curriculum.

LEARNING CONVERSATIONS (previously Student-Led Conferences)

BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN. These 15-minute conversations are an important part of our learning programme. They allow you as parents to be informed of your child’s progress and what they need to be doing to make further gains. These will take place on Tuesday 28 July, Wednesday 29 July and Thursday 30 July. The school will finish at 2 pm Tuesday 28 July, 2 pm Wednesday 29 July and 3.05 pm Thursday 30 July.

The Waitaki District Council is currently running a "speed limit review". They are looking at lowering speeds in school zones if they get enough feedback to indicate that this should be done.

Build Club - written by Maddox Allan

Some fine people (Maddox, Rayffe, Luke, Noah and Lee) made some scooter ramps for scooter/skate club. It took us nearly a whole term. We had our ups and downs but we worked hard and together to get the job done, but we could never have done it without Mr King the Hard Materials teacher and Mrs Meek for making a scooter club so... Thank you:)

OIS Drama Club

They have been practising hard for their upcoming performance for the final assembly of the term tomorrow at 9.00 am. They've been getting together weekly to rehearse their skills throughout term 2, by creating original work based on classic and new ideas. Get ready for some great fun and variety performances.

These teams have been busy practicing and organising team building. Last Friday we went to Apex Engineering in Oamaru North (who are kindly sponsoring our teams) on a guided tour of their plant. Students were amazed by their facility and what they do.
