Last weekend, the Otago Girls’ Swim Team participated in the South Island Swimming Competition at Moana Pool - Holly Wright, Rosa van Turnhout, Aria Bannister, and Olivia McBride.

The swimmers did Otago Girls’ proud and were placed 2nd in the 4 x 50 m Medley Relay, and 3rd in the 4 x 50 m Freestyle Relay. It was an exciting swim meet with several medals won, and PB’s (personal best) happening.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Marama Bannister who managed our team and made sure we all got to our races on time. Thank you also goes to Miss Young, and our two student Swimming Coordinators, Andie McGrouther and Caitlin Hewson, who came along to support our team throughout the weekend.

Olivia McBride - 13 yrs: 1st - 100m IM, 1st - 100m breaststroke, 1st - 50m breaststroke

Aria Bannister - 14 yrs: 1st - 50m breaststroke, 2nd - 100m breaststroke, 3rd - 100m IM
