Active April

Wellbeing, Sport and PB4L Prefects —

Keeping physically active is well recognised as a helpful wellbeing strategy.

This year the Wellbeing, Sports and PB4L Prefects have joined forces to promote 'Active April'.The goal is to encourage students to be more physically active throughout the day.To launch this, students are able to wear active wear and sports shoes to school in the week starting Monday 29 March through until Thursday 1 April. This coincides with our Swimming Sports on Tues 30 March. There will be a range of lunch-time activities on offer that involve physical activity. An Active April Challenge will be promoted to OGHS students and staff. This will involve engaging in 30 minutes of movement/physical activity throughout April and gathering evidence of this. There will be prizes on offer including a Rebel Sports Voucher, The Tasty Twins Cookbook called "The Healthy Kiwi Student" and more...
The choice is either active wear OR the OGHS summer uniform. No general mufti such as skirts, jeans, dresses or boots is allowed. Junior students can wear : OGHS Physical Education uniform/sports uniform, shorts/leggings, OGHS Hoodies/Polo and sports shoes. Seniors Year 11-13 - OGHS sports clothing OR other active wear (if you no longer have PE gear or a sports uniform) and sports shoes.
