9EMB had Golriz Ghahraman, Green Party List MP from Auckland visit via Google Chat. Golriz is the first ever refugee to be voted into Parliament and is a human rights lawyer. She talked about the bill she has introduced to extend the voting age and why Civics Education is so important. The ākonga were able to ask questions and the presentation was really engaging.

We look forward to this learning blossoming as the students now look to create their own political parties.
