Learning at Alert Level 3

Mrs B. Davidson, Deputy Principal —

Kia ora koutou

This week has been another three day week and has seen the return of a small number of students to school. Although we are feeling closer to being back at school together it is also a time that requires incredible patience in terms of wanting to get back to normal as soon as possible. Students have had to dig deep in order to stay motivated and engaged in their learning.

As always, please support students to do a little bit often and to have a good routine of nutrition, exercise, fresh air and water-drinking in order to endure these last levels of restriction on their everyday life. The teachers at this school have been truly wonderful in their efforts to keep learning and assessment ticking along but they too are experiencing the fatigue of the situation. Do please communicate concerns you are having and reach out to us to get extra support if you need it. Together we can get through this time.

Most of all try to support local businesses but don’t let students binge on the takeaways or break the Level 3 restrictions. Encourage them to contact the support team at school and reach out virtually to their friends and isolated people.
