The Enviroschools Sustainable Market
Last Friday, after lots of hard work and organising, the Otago Girls Enviroschools group ran a sustainable market in the hall. There was a variety of different products such as clothing, plants, food and crafts that all fit the sustainability theme. Many of these stalls were run by students who worked very hard on making all of their items. We also had some special, little visitors from the Montessori pre-school come to watch the performances and get their faces painted by students. The Enviroschools group had been working on this project since term one, so it was really something to see it all come together on the day!
Overall, the market was very successful making a profit which will be donated to an environmentally focused charity. Throughout the market, the bustling, and vibrant atmosphere drew more people in to enjoy what the market had to offer. Thank you to the Arts Council who had organised groups to perform on stage and certainly added to the enjoyment. We have many talented students in our school, whether they made delicious food, or performed an amazing dance on stage.
Thank you all so much for coming and supporting Enviroschools and we hope to see you back next year!
