Heads up! Science Wānanga

The University of Otago Division of Sciences is inviting Otago Girls' High School to participate in the 7th University of Otago Science Wānanga for the Otago region, and a first to be hosted at Arai te Uru Marae, from 14 to 16 August 2018. This is a free wānanga with places for up to eight Year 9 or 10 students to build their capacity in science and empower them to pursue further study in the sciences..

Science Wānanga provides secondary students of Māori descent and their supporting teachers with the opportunity to gain practical scientific skills and knowledge in real-life contexts, working alongside university scientists, postgraduate students and the local Māori community as inspirational role models who respect the mātauraka that students bring. There is always keen competition for these places. Please let me know if your whānau is keen for your girl to take part - first in, first served!

More information to follow when we get it.
