13DVC spent the day exploring the coast around the north of Dunedin on Friday. This was a "starting experience" where the students had to think of design possibilities based on the environment, history and needs in the area. At year 13 we encourage our DVC students to develop their own design briefs rather than producing work for a generic task. We visited Aramoana, Purakaunui, Te Mapoutahi, and the Orokonui eco sanctuary. It was a wonderful day and I am excited to see what the students can come up with based on their experience and interpretation of what the saw.A huge thanks needs to go to Mrs Davidson for coming with us and providing huge amounts of encouragement and local knowledge.
