Congratulations to our Curling Team ‘Curling Fries’ who are now National Champions!
The National Curling Competition was held at Naseby during the school holidays and they faced fierce competition from other schools across the country. The team, comprising of Rachael Pitts, Ella Williams, Ailie Muldrew and Emma Campbell, were not deterred by some losses during the competition and maintained their composure to take out the final against Maniototo, with a convincing lead.
It has been a pleasure to follow these girls over their five years of playing curling. From beginning in Year 9 as novices under the tutelage of Mrs Seward, they have honed their skills and should feel immensely proud of their new national title. We are very grateful to all of the curling parents who have supported the team, but particular thanks goes to Mrs Nikki Williams, who has been a passionate and dedicated team manager.
Whilst the team’s success was recognised at this week’s assembly, we also look forward to applauding our ‘Curling Fries’ again on Tuesday evening, at Sports Blues.
