13 Biology students were acting out how a nerve impulse travels along a neuron in the body to trigger a response to maintain homeostasis (in this case a steady body temperature). The context we look at is when the body is unable to maintain this and suffers from hypothermia or hyperthermia. A real-life scenario that reinforces why we are so careful about gear checks for camps was highlighted this week with 21 lives lost during an Ultramarathon event in China due to hypothermia.
