Thursday held a very special night for the Otago Girls’ Year 12 students and their partners at the Metro Lounge, Edgar Centre. Everyone had been planning and looking forward to the formal for the past months. The venue was absolutely stunning, draped in fairy lights, and the elegant decor set the enchanted scene for a winter’s fairytale evening. We entered the enchanted space and were greeted with two amazing grazing tables. Hot platters of food followed a little later in the evening. Our lolly jars were a bit of a treat and well received by everyone who attended.

Everyone looked absolutely stunning in their outfits, heels, and beautifully painted nails. It was great to see everyone bust out their moves on the dance floor and have fun. A professional DJ pumped music throughout the room, which bought the night alive.

We would like to give a massive thank you to everyone involved in the planning and execution of the formal, and enduring all the time and commitment that pieced together this magical night. This includes the School Council, PTSA, Mrs Flanagan, Mrs Hill, the Formal Committee and especially the very lovely Miss Young. Thank you to both the Edgar Centre for being so generous to us with the beautiful venue, and to Gravity Events for such professionalism and an exhilarating performance.

It was a truly special and magical night for our Year 12 students and everyone involved, cemented with permanent memories, the formal was definitely a night to remember!
