Year 13 Geography

Mrs B. Davidson, Geography Teacher —

Year 13 Geography have been busy visiting the South Coast beaches to study Coastal Processes.

We have been to St Clair, St Kilda and Tunnel Beaches, looking at erosion and depositional processes, dune formations, wave frequencies and types, vegetation, longshore drift, beach profiles and sand sorting. The students have also enjoyed warm weather, blue skies, St Clair hot chocolates and a bit of beach life.
Our next assessment looks at the planning and decision-making around the Ed Sheeran concerts. We are studying the social, environmental and economic impacts of the concerts, including the issues around Easter trading, noise control, accommodation and transportation. We have a superb group of Geographers this year who have wholeheartedly embraced the opportunities for real-life learning in this subject.
