Year 8 Orientation day
Today, Year 8 students experienced a glimpse into life at Otago Girls’ during their Orientation morning. It was a wet and rainy start, however our Year 12 leaders extended a warm welcome to the young visitors. Mrs. Davidson commenced the morning with the Principal’s address, setting a positive and encouraging tone. This was enhanced by inspiring advice and valuable insights from senior students Laura Allison and Jen Sutherland. Freya Glover and Isabella Miller, from Year 9, shared their personal perspective of their first year at Otago Girls’. A vivid picture of the school's culture and opportunities, fostered excitement about the potential journey ahead among the visiting students. The proceedings concluded with a harmonious rendition of 'The Climb,' led by our exceptional vocalists and musicians, uniting everyone in song. The atmosphere was lifted by their talent, filling the space with a shared sense of joy and accomplishment.
Throughout the morning, Year 8 students enjoyed varied departmental activities, fostering engagement and learning to enrich their introduction.

Despite the weather, the day bloomed with enthusiasm, leaving the Year 8 students with a taste of the supportive and vibrant community awaiting them at Otago Girls’ next year. It was truly delightful to spend the morning together, and we look forward to formally welcoming everyone in 2024.
