Ski Trip 2019

Billie Cahill, Sarah Wybrow, Jess Smith —

Whoop whoop! Ski trip 2019 was a blast.

We had four fantastic days in the sun with amazing spring snow conditions, “we were so lucky!” On Friday 30 August, 86 students and nine teachers loaded the two buses headed for Queenstown. On arrival at Lakeland Camp in Kelvin Heights, we settled into our cabins and made it home for the next four days.

It was a 6:00-6:30am wake-up call each morning to make it up the mountain in time for our daily lessons. Our first two days were spent at the Remarkables Ski field and the last two days at Coronet Peak. There was lots of fun and laughter as everyone skied, snowboarded and whooped whooped down the mountain slopes and a few of the jumps each day. By the end of every day, tired, weary but happy students (and teachers) boarded the bus back to camp.

Our teachers prepared great tasting meals and desserts on Saturday and Sunday evenings. On Monday night we given $10 each and went into Queenstown to buy our own dinner and snacks. Patagonia, Cookie Time, The Remarkables Lolly shop, McDonalds, KFC and the Food Court were all popular choices.

The teachers were very helpful and supportive throughout the trip. Thank you for making the trip an amazing experience and lots of fun. We are already looking forward to, and talking about coming back next year.
