Principal's Report

Mrs Bridget Davidson, Tumuaki~Principal —

Kia ora koutou

Welcome to our Year 8 students who spent Open Morning with us. We loved how the students embraced the morning and how the Year 12 leaders came in from their exam leave and showed manaakitanga to our visitors.

NCEA examinations continue and students are invited to make the most of every opportunity for tutorials and extra help. Our staff are very generous in helping as much as they can to provide support at this time. We have specialist help also for those needing to boost their credit totals in a range of subjects. Please track progress with your young person so that they do not fall short by one standard for their qualification in January.

There are several Teacher Only Days coming up and junior classes will not run those days. School remains open for NCEA examinations as these are run independently of us by NZQA supervisors. Please ensure that juniors have adequate supervision on these days and check the Google Classroom for work and homework set. It is important that young people are safe and supervised both at these times and over the holiday period. Some planning of physical activity, leisure and reading would be beneficial.

Year 10 students are preparing for camp. Please get in touch early with your Dean or Miss Young if gear or payment are an issue. These are pivotal memories in the life of the school and we are fortunate to have returned to a normal cycle of camps.

A reminder that all students are expected back at school in full uniform on Monday 5 December. This is a day full of celebrations with Leaver’s assembly, concluding that evening with Prizegiving commencing at 6pm at the Regent Theatre. Prizegiving should be attended by all students in full winter/dress uniform.
