Junior Production

Ms K Dick, Assistant Principal —

As we celebrate with our Senior school as they approach their final splendid performances of Cry Baby this weekend, we look toward some delightful creativity from our Junior students in September. Work has begun on our Junior Production which goes on stage at the close of Term Three. To celebrate our 150th, Ms Dick has written “The Ballad of Light and Beauty or The Hunt for the Chambered Nautilus.” The finishing touches to the script are underway with additions from our students. The story is set in 2121 when OGHS is getting set for its 250th Jubilee but things have gone awry and the school song is missing and traditions have been lost. It is up to students of 2121 to find the origin of the song and bring it back to the future in order for the jubilee to take place.

The actors have been cast and rehearsals have begun in I-Time and will resume in after-school sessions and Sunday afternoons in Term Three. If you want to be a part of the show as a dancer, singer or in the various crowd scenes, you are very welcome to join us. Just sign up on the Google Classroom if you’re keen and email Ms Dick to let her know you’ve done so. If you’d like to be part of the technical backstage crew designing slides, sound effects and a potential hologram, and you’re willing to give up some Sundays, here is the Classroom code: 7d7ebog
