Tertiary Open Day

Mrs R. Bazsika, Career Education Leader —

The Dunedin Tertiary Open Day is a great opportunity for all Year 13 students to explore their future study options.

This year, there are presentations being held on Sunday as well as Monday. Students who make the most of this day come away with a far greater understanding of the academic requirements of university/polytechnic study and great ideas about how to make their degrees interesting, flexible and marketable. All OGHS students are encouraged to explore a range of tertiary institutions to ensure they choose the best fit for them. Year 13 students wear mufti and do not attend school on Monday. Here is the link to the open day. Tertiary Open Day Once students have registered, they can plan their days and print out a schedule of lectures and activities to attend so that they can make the most of their time.

Mrs Bazsika (Careers Education Leader) is on the university campus during the whole day and students can contact her by phone or email bzk@otagogirls.school.nz  should they need assistance.

The Dunedin Tertiary Open Day is an immersive event designed to give you a first-hand experience of what the tertiary environment is like.

Dunedin Tertiary Open Day 2019 will be run over two days this year, Sunday 5 May and Monday 6 May. However, Monday is still the main day with all the usual activities – Expo, tours, presentations, sessions, etc. Sunday is a supplementary afternoon comprising of additional Health Science First Year presentations, college and campus tours, and a variety of other sessions and activities (see programme). If you are only able to attend Monday 6 May, you will still be able to see everything there is to offer, but if you can attend both days, you’ll have a more relaxed and comprehensive experience.
