Congratualtions Freya Pettigrew

Mrs A. Budd, Digital Technoloy —

On 24th May, several Year 11 Digital Technology students entered the Adobe Certified Associates Design competition for 2019 by designing the promotional material for the Blind Foundation's Bikkie Day Campaign.

On Tuesday we were notified that Freya Pettigrew had placed first in the competition and she was flown to Auckland on Thursday to be presented with her prize.

At the Interface Xpo for teachers, Freya was presented with a giant boarding pass to represent her prize. Freya will be flying to New York at the end of July to be representing New Zealand in the International ACA Design competition! This is a very prestigious prize, especially as the competition is open to Adobe design students all around the country.

To find a student to represent New Zealand at the World Championship, they were looking for submissions that met every aspect of the initial brief:

  • Displayed strong technical ability of the Adobe Creative Cloud Software.

  • Understood the target audience and capture the of the campaign.

  • Could be used in a real-world professional marketing campaign.

  • Incorporated a unique flair.

While in Auckland for the presentation, Freya was also lucky enough to be taken around to visit some tourist sites including a trip up the Sky Tower!

Well done Freya and thank you very much to Richard and Jonathan at Xcerio for this amazing opportunity!
