On Friday 10 June four students took part in the New Zealand Community Trust Chamber Music competition in the Otago district round.

It was a wonderful evening of music celebrating an opportunity to perform together after the disruptions of the past years.

Year 10 students Nikita Lu, Frances Donald and Sarah Pushenko performed Sérénade by Mel Bonis on flute, violin and piano. Ayla Biner-McGrath (year 12) played clarinet in a group with students from other schools, they performed Romanza by GIan Carlo Menotti.

Ayla's group won the district round and were awarded 'Best Overall Group'. The group will continue to the South Island competition in July. Congratulations Ayla!
