SENIOR PARALLEL EXAMINATIONS

Mrs B. Davidson Assistant Principal —

10-18 September

Good Luck to all seniors for the parallel examinations. These examinations are very important for preparing for the final external examinations in November. When students prepare well for their parallel external examinations, they are able to get very meaningful feedback about what they have mastered and what they still need to do.

Please refer to the study tips and examination guidelines posted in this newsletter. You can support your daughter to do well by asking questions and testing them on what they have learnt, by making sure they have an adequate study space and time to prepare for the exams and by giving them a sustaining breakfast before their examination. Students should get early nights throughout the exam period and should arrive to school in plenty of time for their examinations so that they are not stressed or rushed.

Many students find it effective to have study notes on post-it notes around their room or other areas and to use mind-maps and other tools to summarise and learn information. Re-reading and re-viewing texts in English is also important. The aim of these examinations is to build confidence and knowledge for the final examinations so that your daughter can do as well as she possibly can. Good Luck to all of our seniors.
