Celebrating our Leavers with Honour
This year, our school embraced a beautiful new tradition following the final Leaver's Assembly, creating a moving send-off for our graduating Year 13 students.
The day culminated with the staff lining the main foyer, forming a guard of honour as the Year 13s left the school grounds. In a deeply symbolic gesture, our leavers exited through the same main doors they last used when they first entered the school as Year 9 students.
The emotional farewell continued outside, with the entire school gathered to participate in the handover of our senior students to the next stage of their lives.
The atmosphere shifted as the whole school performed a powerful and moving school haka, led by our Wairua Pūhou group. The Year 13 students reciprocated with a stirring return haka. It was a truly special moment that reinforced the deep connections within our school whānau, our pride and mana.
We are incredibly grateful to our MediaLab Film Club for beautifully capturing the spirit of this new tradition which we have attached for you to watch.
We hope this new farewell custom continues to honour the journey of our students for years to come.
