Year 11 PE Tchouckbal Tournament

Miss M Young, Physical Education Teacher —

The annual Year 11 PE Interclass Tchouckbal tournament is always the end of term highlight for our students. Last year was the first year in over 20 years that it did not happen due to Covid alert levels, so it was with much excitement to see the students changed in their team uniforms ready to take on the competition.

The tournament is part of their on-going NCEA assessments for Term One. There were two grades, each with three teams competing for the title. The competition was tough with all players showing their strength and skills in tchouckbal. Amongst their competitive spirit, there was lots of laughter and friendly comradery.

The winning B-Grade team was ‘Bananas ‘n Pyjamas’ from Miss Young’s class. It was an intense battle in A-Grade for first place with two teams at the top of the table - ‘Blues Clues’ (Miss Young’s class) and ‘Bubbleguppies’ (Mrs Paterson’s class). The winning team was decided by goal- differentiation … and the winner was ……...‘Bubbleguppies’ by 4 points.

Congratulations to all our players for their positive participation and fair play.
