First XI after their win vs Columba

OTAGO GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SUCCESS

Miss E. Rogers Teacher in Charge Football —

Otago Girls' Football has had amazing success this season!

The First XI coached by Grant Simpson and Mr Richards bet Columba 1-0 in their final game to win the Division 1 competition for the first time since 2008. They played 14 games throughout the season, winning 12, drawing one and losing one. We are super proud and hope they can bring back the silverware from the Gary Sowden Tournament that they are competing in this week in Ashburton.

Not only that but the Second XI coached by Miss Rogers won the Division 2 competition for the third year in a row playing 11 games and winning all of them. This is also the third year in a row that the girls have been unbeaten which is a massive feat! The Azure football team came 2nd in Division 2 losing only to the Second XI! I am sure with these results, that we can claim that Otago Girls' is undoubtedly the best football school in Dunedin!

These are outstanding results and with a number of representative players, we look forward to continued success from the girls in the coming years.
