Writers' Camp

Eva Reynolds 9Mcg —

On 29 and 30 November a group of Year 9 OGHS students went out to Warrington and stayed in the King’s High School Hatherley facility by the sea for a writing retreat camp. We did things like write about our surroundings, dystopian futures, nature, poems, and more. It was a really fun bonding experience with other students and a really fun opportunity to learn new writing skills. One of my favourite parts was going down to the beach and writing our haikus in the sand. This helped us to connect with the nature we were writing about. Ms Hayward taught us a new game called Kick the Can which we played a couple rounds of.

Overall it was an extremely enjoyable camp and I'm so glad I went.
