World Challenge is a student-led educational expedition designed to develop important life skills helping students to: develop teamwork, leadership skills, grow in confidence and self-esteem, become more globally aware with a cross-cultural understanding, develop conservation and sustainability awareness, and enhance employment prospects.
Students will experience a range of physical and mental challenges; from jungle treks, communicating with the locals, navigating cultural barriers, budget management, to organising daily activities for the group. They will also get the chance to positively contribute towards inspiring and ethical community-led initiative that support the United Nations Sustainable Development goals.
World Challenge is not your average overseas holiday. There are no glamorous resorts, buffet meals, or private drivers. Participants will travel on local transport, staying in backpacker type accommodation, and eating local food from the street stalls. These experiences provide rich cultural growth and development.
Everyone will be stretched beyond their comfort zones as they overcome diversity and understand their strength & weaknesses, from pre-departure planning and preparation, right through to expedition time in-country. The first of their challenges will be to fundraise around $8000 each.
The inaugural World Challenge was back in 2014, and this will be the fourth expedition. World Challenge is a journey of self-discovery, personal growth, friendship and laughter.
Look out for further notices from this World Challange group, as we embark on this exciting and inspiring journey.
