Introducing our School Council & Community Service Prefect

Lily Sikora, School Council & Community Service Prefect —

Lily Sikora

Kia Ora, my name is Lily Sikora, and I am delighted to be the school council community service prefect this year!

This role means I will be organising events and creating opportunities for the school to give back to, connect with and positively contribute to the wider community. This includes Relay for Life, Octacan Appeal, Student Volunteer Army, as well as many other new and exciting things I have planned this year.

I have previously been involved in the Wellbeing team, the School Council, volunteering opportunities and am also the Cultural Coordinator for Shakespeare Festival. I hope to bring these experiences, as well as my passion, to make 2026 a great year for Otago Girls!

A few things about me: I work part-time as a swim teacher at the pool, and my favourite class to teach is the pre-school class (if you ever need to learn how to blow bubbles, give me a call!). When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my Mum and twin 6-year-old brother and sister, as well as our new puppy, Gatsby. I am blessed to have a great group of friends, and we love hiking and going on road trips together. Finally, I am the co-owner of SunScent, easy-apply on-the-go sunscreen, with my amazing business partner, Fleur, through the Young Enterprise Scheme (if you're in the market for a new favourite SPF50 sunscreen, check out @sunscent.yes on Instagram or TikTok!).
