Gold Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award

Mrs S Watt, TIC Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award —

From 4 to 7 October I took six senior students on their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award adventurous journey.

We left school at 8am and travelled through to Lawrence. From here, over the next three days, we walked the Clutha Gold Trail averaging 25km per day.

The weather forecast was for occasional showers. We experienced three beautiful days with high temperatures and enjoyed the amazing scenery. The trip concluded with only a couple of blisters and some mild sunburn.

All six students completed this journey in high spirits, counting the kilometre markers off as they went. They were an amazing team, working together and supporting each other during the walk and back at camp.
