Recently we installed a Fireball Camera in D44 to overlook the southern skies. This is part of a global research project co-ordinated by the University of Otago Geology Department.

The first exciting images were revealed on 28th August at 10.50pm.  Preliminary analysis suggests that a meteorite was "dropped", rather than anything burning up.The hunt is on the find it! Further work is being done to find the exact location.
