This week Ms Nielson farewelled her “Team of 2025”. She has provided amazing support and guidance to students throughout their journey from Year 9 through to Year 13. Her humour, zest for life and sage advice have been greatly appreciated. As her Year 13 students transition from school, Ms Nielson is also transitioning from her deaning role. After over a decade in the Pastoral Team, Ms Nielson has decided to shift her professional focus solely to the English Department where she will continue to share her expertise, innovative ideas and inspire others with her passion for literature. Jo Nielson has had a significantly positive impact on the lives of many, many Otago Girls’ students and their families. The Pastoral Team has been privileged to work alongside and learn from Jo. She will continue to be a positive influence and role model wearing her curriculum hat. We highly value her expertise as we negotiate the curriculum changes ahead of us.
