The 40 Hour Famine

Ms R. Joyce, TIC School Council —

Well done to everyone that was involved with the 40 Hour Famine this year.

To date, we have raised a grand total of $2214.40. That is an incredible effort! The girls participating did a variety of things to raise money, from the typical 40 Hours no food, to walking and running 40km during that 40-hour time slot.

Earlier this year a group of Otago Girls’ students attended the World Vision Conference and heard what is happening in South Sudan. This inspired us to take action and participate in this year's 40 Hour Famine to make others lives slightly better. We are so fortunate to live in New Zealand where we have running water in our homes and a robust education system for all young people. We heard Edna’s story and we would like to share this with you:

Thank you for all those who donated so generously to this cause. Donations are open until 30 September and you can donate here

If you still have your famine book at home (even if it is unused), please drop it off to the office.
