Colleen Latu - Stitch Kitchen

My work placement was at Stitch Kitchen. This was a great placement as I want to become a Fashion Designer focussing on Pasifika costumes. Fiona at Stitch Kitchen has had lots of experience in fashion design and was an amazing support to me as I learned how to use recycled fabric to create a very nice jacket. I also learned how to deal with different types of fabric and to identify these different fabrics which was very helpful.

Stitch Kitchen is a Charitable Organisation and they support the community to learn to sew using all recycled and donated fabrics. It was a lot of fun meeting different people and helping Fiona in the business and with the various community sewing projects she is doing.
