A fantastic afternoon was spent in Milton on Thursday 26 May. Six OGHS teams travelled down to the Otago/Southland Cross Country.

 All teams ran a great race with outstanding results. Thalia Roome was the first junior girl and Jenna Thorne the first senior girl. The junior team made up of Thalia Roome, Caitlyn O’Donnell, Elsa Neuman and Rebecca Hill were placed the first junior team. The senior team made up of Jenna Thorne, Taylor Thorne, Lucy Matehaere and Hannah Matehaere was placed 2nd. I would like to congratulate all students that took part and it was so good to see OGHS well represented at this event. Thank you to Terry Curtis and Mark O’Donnell for your assistance. The next event for the girls is the Otago Championships. At this event the girls will be running individually where as all of the previous events have team races. The Otago Championships are being held on Thursday 2nd June at Kaikorai Valley High School. Race times are as follows: Girls U14 - 11.45, U15 – 12.25, U16 – 12.45, Senior Girls U19 – 1.45 Races will be combined if entries are low.
