We are incredibly proud to share the exciting achievements of two of our former students, Juliette Lequeux (Class of 2015) and Hannah Matehaere (Class of 2020), who have both been selected for the New Zealand Women’s Eight to compete at the prestigious Windermere Cup in Washington next month.

Juliette and Hannah, who now row for Otago University, will wear the silver fern for the first time, an incredible milestone in their rowing careers. Juliette’s journey to this moment is particularly inspiring — she first trialled for a New Zealand team back in 2016 and, after nearly a decade of unwavering commitment and perseverance, is seeing her dream realised.

In addition to the Windermere Cup, Juliette has also earned selection for World Cup events in June, continuing her remarkable progress in the sport.

We are thrilled to celebrate their success and can't wait to watch them take on this exciting next chapter. Their stories are a powerful reminder that determination and hard work truly pay off.
