Ciara Coffey has been awarded the ICAS medal for Writing. Winning an ICAS medal is an incredible achievement as it means Ciara was placed as the top student in her competition in New Zealand. To achieve this award, Ciara wrote a piece of prose in response to a prompt given in the exam. She had 45 minutes to write her text, edit and proofread it before submitting it to be examined. This is a challenge for any writer!

Being awarded an ICAS medal isn't a new achievement for Ciara - last year she won the ICAS medal for English - an exam designed to test one's understanding of texts and language.
