Beverly-Begg Observatory

Miss W Dunn, Asst HOD Science —

Last night (Thursday) a group of students from Year 9-13 visited the Beverly-Begg Observatory. The cloud rolled in and out and it was bitterly cold but we did get a chance to observe some of the constellations and star clusters through the telescope along with photos taken from the observatory of other galaxies. For students who are interested in visiting the observatory yourself public nights are on Sunday nights in winter. Later in the year planets will also be visible in the evening sky (they have been in our morning sky of late). Different phases of the moon have advantages and disadvantages for night viewing as well.
