From our Principal
This week I had the privilege of taking fifteen students on Year 10 camp to Fiordland. Despite the rather tumultuous weather, we enjoyed a beautiful cruise on Milford Sound, walks on the Kepler, Routeburn and Greenstone Tracks, camping at the Greenstone Saddle Campsite in challenging conditions and being glad to get into shelter and hot drinks at the beautiful McKellar Hut.
The outstanding theme apart from world class scenery and hiking was the friendship and resilience of the girls. Several tourists remarked to us how positive, respectful and resilient the students were and what a great advertisement they were for our school. Likewise the staff on the camp enjoyed the girls’ company and found them helpful and upbeat. Having no phones only enhanced and deepened the experience.
Thank you to all of the 25 staff who make the magic of this week happen. The memories and friendships last a lifetime.
