Careers Expo

Mrs R Bazsika, Careers Education Leader —

Wednesday 9 June

Next Wednesday Year 11 students will have the opportunity to begin looking a little more closely at their future.

Over 40 exhibitors will be available for our students to ask questions about possible career pathways, tertiary training and apprenticeships. Students who have a particular career pathway in mind will also realise the importance of choosing the right subjects to study in Year 12 and 13.

Students will receive a Careers Expo Passport on Tuesday morning which will allow them to plan which exhibitors they wish to talk to. This is a great opportunity for our students to tap into the combined wisdom of all their whanau as they begin to explore very real possibilities for their future so I would encourage you to sit down with your child and have this conversation.

Over the next two terms I will be seeing a number of Year 11 and year 12 students in the careers office to discuss subject choices, work experience and goals for their continuing study next year and beyond. I look forward to investing some time into our fantastic young people to ensure that they are tapping into their potential and challenging themselves to make the most of all their learning and career opportunities.
