This week, Otago Girls’ hosted their annual swimming sports house competition at Moana Pool. It all started with gathering on the school courts before walking up the hill to the pool. We started the day off strong with the competitive Year 13 50m freestyle. Meanwhile, those who were there for laughter and enjoyment were down the other end of the pool winning walking races!

As the day progressed, many house points were accumulated. Whether it was through the fancy dress races, tube races, or competitive swimming, everyone had a blast cheering each other on, trying new things, and stepping out of their comfort zones.

To wrap up the day, we had the long-awaited house relays and the classic prefect vs. staff relay. After a hard-fought battle, the prefects came out victorious! Well done to everyone who participated, and a massive thanks to the teachers and staff who made this day possible.
