Amnesty Quiz night
On the 6th of June, our school’s Amnesty group collaborated with St Hilda’s to host an Amnesty related quiz night at our school. The quiz night was a huge success and everyone had a great time!
We had 9 different categories of human rights related questions. In between the categories, we had pop quizzes (with amazing spot prizes!!). Some of the categories included, Women’s rights, NZ politics, Famous activists, and so many more fun topics. The questions were both exciting and challenging; it was fun attempting to scratch our brains trying to figure out the correct answer. We not only had fun, but also learnt some interesting human rights facts. Edelweiss von Hoffler entertained us with a stunning karaoke version of ‘Colours of the Wind’ from Pocahontas.
We had teams of 3-4 people and we all had to write our answers on a sheet of paper. Congratulations to ‘The Penguins’ who got first place by a whole 10 points, as well as to ‘The Unranked Life' and ‘The Kazzle Dazzles' who won second and third place respectively.
Our Amnesty Coordinator, Ms Thomson, provided the many delicious snacks, and also welcomed three lovely parents from St Hilda’s who all joined in on the entertainment. They had a really good time and we all enjoyed ourselves!
In the end, it was such an amazing and fun night for everyone, as well as a fantastic way to end the week. Thank you so much to everyone who helped to make this wonderful evening happen.
