On Tuesday 10 September, three Year 10 students participated in the Parafed Otago and Halberg Trust Virtual Triathlon organised by the Otago Polytechnic students at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

This was a fundraiser for Parafed Otago. Our Year 10 Physical Education classes engage in a Disability Awareness Unit of work during the year and this is supported by Parafed Otago with wheelchair basketball. The students wanted to give back to the Parafed Community by volunteering their time to help with the event and compete in the virtual triathlon.

Each student competed for 20 minutes in one of three disciplines:Run - Jordan Evans-Tobata (5km), Bike - Amelie East-Giles (10km), Row - Sam Grey (4.5km).The girls participated with a positive and competitive spirit, and were wonderful ambassadors for Otago Girls’ displaying integrity and respect.
